King Street West could be closed for up to eight weeks
One of the main roads in central Stockport will be closed for up to two months as a crane for one of the town centre's major redevelopment projects is erected and put to work. King Street West, which runs between the town centre and Edgeley, will be closed from the Heaton Lane roundabout to Chestergate from Monday .

The Edgeley Community Association, a group of three local councillors, said in a social media post: "The crane will sit in the closed section of the road and a diversion will be in place for potentially up to eight weeks.
For drivers, a diversion will be in place, which will take them around the Pyramid roundabout and down Wood Street and Brinksway.
