The Papa Don't Preach star, 64, was forced to postpone her world tour The Celebration, marking 40 years in the music business, after she contracted a serious bacterial infection and was rushed to an intensive care unit.
In an update on Instagram, Madonna said she was"on the road to recovery" and"incredibly grateful for all the blessings in my life".
"My focus is now my health and getting stronger and I assure you, I'll be back with you as soon as I can!" Instead, she will make her first appearance on the European leg, which is scheduled to begin with four sell-out shows at London's O2 Arena on 14 October.The music icon's Instagram post was liked more than 100,000 times within less than an hour and flooded with well-wishes.
