The leaders of France, Germany and Italy arrived in Kyiv today in a show of joint European support for President Zelensky as the West promised further weapons for the defence of Ukraine

President Macron of France, Olaf Scholz, the German chancellor, and Mario Draghi, the Italian prime minister, travelled together in a special overnight train for the surprise visit.On their arrival in the Ukrainian capital, Macron said they would visit would visit wartorn sites “where massacres have been committed” during the Russian invasion and would speak to Ukrainian officials about “both the present and the future”.
