Close Windu and Cruz retreated into an ice cave to escape some pursuing villains, and they ran right into two Bore Worms. At least, that’s what Mace Windu discovers is right in front of him, as he didn’t recognize this creature, and had no idea what it was before Cruz blurted out its name in horror. That means Windu didn’t know the Bore Worms were immune to lightsaber attacks, though he quickly realizes that when his strikes had no effect.
Like the Bore Worm, Zillo Beasts have organic armor that is impervious to lightsaber attack. However, as discovered by Anakin Skywalker, the Zillo Beasts’ armor is plated, and its large size makes the openings between those plates more vulnerable to attack, especially from enemies as relatively small as human-sized Jedi.
