Queues are building following the crash
Long delays are building on a stretch of the M56 towards Manchester Airport this evening after a crash.
One lane is closed and traffic is queuing due to a crash on the eastbound side of the M56 from junction 5 to junction 4 Simonsway , according to traffic alert service Inrix.Motorway cameras show long queues on the eastbound side of the motorway. Congestion is currently back to junction 7 with delays of 20 minutes.Traffic is easing now easing on the M56 and the crash has now been cleared, according to the traffic alert service Inrix.
Inris says: “One lane closed and queueing traffic due to accident on M56 Eastbound from J5 to J4 Simonsway .”There is currently congestion on the M56 eastbound between junctions 7 and 5 following the earlier crash, according to National Highways.
