Robbery caught on video spreads across social media, employees allege they were fired for calling police

Some social media users likened the backlash to both Bud Light and Target, which have reportedly lost billions due to recent boycotts. In the case of Bud Light, the best-selling beer in the U.S., some consumers were outraged after the company. Target has faced similar ire over its latest collection of Pride-themed clothing.

The Canadian sportswear brand has also been defended in other corners of the internet, with social media users noting that many stores follow a similar policy that focuses on the safety of staff rather than securing stolen merchandise. The employees have been identified in local media reports as Jennifer Ferguson and Rachel Rogers. Ferguson was formerly the store’s assistant manager, while Rogers, who recorded the incident, had worked for the retailer for five years.“That was my sole income,” Rogers told 11 Alive, while Ferguson noted that company policy is to stay out of the way of thieves and “clear a path for whatever they’re going to do.

Lululemon fired two female employees for confronting shoplifters who were ransacking their Peachtree Corners, Atlanta store and calling the police on them.
