As the play unfolded, a clearly pained Severino dropped his glove and was quickly checked by the training staff and removed from the game, replaced by Jhony Brito. Severino had allowed a two-run homer to Willy Adames in the third as he looked to bounce back from another rough outing in his previous start in Houston.
