Eskom will introduce slightly higher levels of load shedding after the long weekend.
Stage 3 load shedding will be implemented from Sunday at 16:00.
Stage 1 load shedding will then kick in from 05:00 on Monday until 16:00, with stage 3 load shedding then being introduced until 05:00 on Tuesday. Despite the lower stages of load shedding for the rest of the long weekend, stage 4 load shedding will be implemented on Tuesday and Wednesday evenings.Stage 3: 00h00 to 05h00Stage 2: 05h00 to 16h00Stage 4: 16h00 to 00h00Eskom said that breakdowns currently stand at 17,702MW of generating capacity, with over 3,700MW also out for planned maintenance.A generating unit each at Grootvlei and Lethabo power stations were take offline for repairs over the same time period.
Eskom said that the delays in returning a service at Arnot, Duvha, Kriel and Lethabo power stations were exacerbating current capacity constraints.
