MEDINA LAKE - Memorial Day Weekend is usually the first weekend recreational boaters put their boats back on the water, but local officials want to remind them
According to Water Data for Texas, Canyon Lake is only 58% full right now and Medina Lake is just 2.6% full.
According to Water Data for Texas, Canyon Lake is only 58% full right now and Medina Lake is just 2.6% full. That's creating obstacles for boaters like islands and trees that were once hidden and forcing boat ramps to close to the public in some areas. While big crowds are expected at Canyon Lake over Memorial Day Weekend, it's a different story at Medina Lake.
The last time Medina Lake was considered 100% full was back in July of 2019. "It was crazy," recalled Axtell. "That was before the businesses closed. Everybody came here to the lake. It was like a circus."
