Breaking local news in Boksburg

‘Unreasonably loud noise’ means any amplified sound that crosses real property boundaries at such a volume as to disrupt the normal daily activities including, but not limited to, sleeping, studying, and dining of persons within a residence, or disrupt the normal daily activities.

In terms of Sections 8 and 9, part two of the Noise Control Regulations 1999, promulgated in terms of the Environment Conservation Act, 73 , as amended, no person shall allow or permit a disturbing noise and noise nuisance to exist due to the loud playing of music on a premises. The Round Table Boksburg 17 gathers every Saturday and Sunday. I have complained to them, but nothing. They say they get rent from them and that was more important. The loud music and singing make you want to run away. This is getting ridiculous. I hear the noise and I am not even in a unit at the border between us.

Can somebody help, please? I had the police come out but the next weekend it is back to normal and loud. I am not interested in trying to talk to anybody at the Round Table as all I get is an empty promise or they are rude to me.Editor's note: Round Table chairperson Walter van Rooyen responded: Round Table has communicated with the church that rents our premises on weekends and asked them to keep the noise levels down. We have quite a high municipal bill to pay every month, so we need a tenant to be able to make those payments.
