The Academy Awards nominations announcement has already been delayed due to the fires, with the voting period extended until Jan 17 ahead of the shortlists being revealed on Jan 23, with the ceremony scheduled for March 3. She wrote on Instagram: "Attention! With all due respect, during Hollywood's season of celebration, I hope any of the networks televising the upcoming awards will seriously consider not televising them and donating the revenue they would have garnered to victims of the fires and the firefighters.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, in a letter regarding voting for the Academy Awards, the organisation initially said: "We want to offer our deepest condolences to those who have been impacted by the devastating fires across Southern California.
