Councillor Paul Goggin, Lord Mayor of Bristol, will take a three month break after being ill.
A temporary Lord Mayor of Bristol has been appointed, after the incumbent Mayor stepped back for health reasons.He takes over from Paul Goggin, who was seriously ill over the summer.
"Paul's top priority needs to be his recovery, and his return to work will need to be phased. I know councillors from all parties wish him a speedy and full recovery," said Mr Pearce.on 12 September detailing his recent health problems. "I'm bored and frustrated and I want to start performing at least some of my duties as soon as I can," he said at the time.
