“The police investigation revealed that Mr. Fenelon and his spouse were a couple for many years. According to the five children of the reconstituted family, they were together with no history of physical, psychological or verbal violence,” coroner Stéphanie Gamache wrote in her report. “However, testimony from some witnesses leads us to believe that a separation was coming in the near future.
The couple’s children told the police that when their parents wanted to discuss sensitive subjects, they often did so outside the family home.
