Ademola Lookman of Nigeria has been awarded the Confederation of African Football's prestigious Player of the Year Award for 2024, making him the second consecutive Nigerian to do so after Victor Osimhen. Analysts say Lookman's performances with Nigeria's senior national team, the Super Eagles - especially during the last African Cup Of Nations - coupled with an outstanding season with his Serie A side Atalanta - made the 27-year-old a favorite for the award.
