FOR SINGLETONS looking for everlasting love, February 14th – better known as Valentine’s Day – can stir up complicated and difficult feelings in their ever-going search quest for love.
Anthea Benjamin, a psychotherapist from the UK Council for Psychotherapy , has worked with couple relationships and says the singletons feel much more internalised and societal pressure as love season approaches, but urges for people not to feel that there is something “faulty or wrong” with them. According to the dating app Badoo, a hefty 72 per cent of Londoners say they have been ghosted, on average six times each.
“It’s really important that the person who’s been left in that position is able to put it in perspective, but also that they’re not reliant on that medium to get their sense of self and their self esteem,” she said.
