Not even the drizzly weather could rain on this parade: The Royal Cape Yacht Club held its annual Opening Cruise yesterday to mark the start of Cape Town's cruise season – which word on the street says will be booming this season:

On Saturday, the annual Opening Cruise event saw the Royal Cape Yacht Club and Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, Alderman James Vos launching Cape Town’s sailing season.

The day’s proceedings began with an address by the club’s commodore and a blessing of the fleet. Thereafter, the boats departed from the Royal Cape Yacht Club, passing the Waterfront Clock Tower to the V&A Waterfront terminal. The Royal Cape Yacht Club / Facebook
