The duo began playing the lottery together three years ago when they thought combining efforts might be advantageous. They used family birthdates to pick their numbers. Ellsworth said when he realized a ticket the two purchased for the Aug. 27 Lotto 6/49 draw was a winner, he kept it in his briefcase until Monday morning.
