Londoners can now send elderly people personalised letters in a bid to stop loneliness in care homes with a new penpal service
The service, which was launched during the pandemic, aims to connect local people with isolated residents.Lillian, from Marham House Care Home, said she found it “very comforting” when she received the letter.Lottie co-founder Will Donnelly said: “The penpal scheme has brought a lot of happiness to residents already and we are hoping it’ll feel extra special to both the recipients and senders of penpal letters to meet someone in their own area and form a friendship.
