London climate protests to end after 11 days of gridlock
"Extinction Rebellion will voluntarily end the Marble Arch and Parliament Square blockades tomorrow," said the group, adding there would be a closing ceremony at Hyde Park.
More than 1,000 demonstrators blocked five high profile locations in central London, including Oxford Circus, Piccadilly Circus and Parliament Square. Police have arrested more than a thousand activists since they began their protests last Monday, 69 of whom have been formally charged. Addressing the demonstrations on Sunday, she declared: "the struggle has barely begun. It's only the beginning."
