Logan Lerman, who starred in the Percy Jackson movies, pointed out the main issue with casting him for a role in Disney+'s upcoming Percy Jackson.

Logan Lerman, the star of the Percy Jackson film franchise, doesn't see himself joining the cast of the upcoming Disney+ series based on the same book series. Lerman played the titular character in the original 2010 20th Century Fox film Percy Jackson & The Olympians: The Lightning Thief and its 2013 sequel, Percy Jackson: Sea Of Monsters.

SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Speaking to Esquire, Lerman discussed his breakout role and whether he could return to the Percy Jackson world in the new series. According to the 30-year-old actor, he has been approached by people who believe he should return in a different role than the one he played in the movies: that of Percy Jackson's father and the god of the seas, Poseidon.

I get people asking me all the time if I'm gonna play Poseidon, and I'm like, am I old enough to play Poseidon? I don't think I'm old enough for that one! I wouldn't cast me in that role if I was part of the creative team. I don't know, these are all hypotheticals, so I have no idea. I'm just so in the mindset of what I'm working on right now too, so whenever I get that question, I'm like, I have no idea.

While many of the leading roles have already been cast, some big ones still have yet to be tied to an actor, leaving the door open for Lerman's possible return. While Hades, Ares, and Medusa have already been cast, major Greek gods such as Zeus, Poseidon, and Apollo have not. Since Lerman said he doesn't think he's old enough to play Poseidon, it seems unlikely the actor would be old enough to play Poseidon's brother Zeus, king of the gods, either.

Lerman has been keeping busy over the past few years, recently taking on a supporting role as The Son in the 2022 action comedy film Bullet Train and also serving as a producer on the 2022 drama film Press Play as well as Sam Taylor-Johnson's upcoming biopic Rothko. Lerman has also mentioned that he's in the middle of working on a series set during WWII called We Were The Lucky Ones.
