Lockdown travel update: Gautrain airport service opens, FlySafair starts new Lanseria route | BISouthAfrica
FlySafair and Mango resumed domestic flights on Monday, while the Gautrain's airport service has also restarted again.It has introduced a new route between Lanseria and Durban.On Monday, FlySafair and Mango become the latest airlines to take to the skies on domestic routes, while the Gautrain finally also resumed its airport service.
Air travel for business purposes is now permitted under Alert Level 3, after being banned in previous stages of the lockdown. On Monday, FlySafair became the first airline to fly from Lanseria airport in the north of Johannesburg during lockdown, and it also introduced a brand new route to Durban. Tickets for flights between OR Tambo and Cape Town start at R819 for Tuesday, while on Mango the same route costs around R859.
