Alvi said she was raised in Pakistan but has lived most of her life in Canada. She works at a clinic in Airdrie, but also provides emergency coverage at hospitals in rural Alberta and teaches at the University of Calgary.Article content, to support a mobile clinic in Pakistan that’s been in operation since last week.
When she arrives in Pakistan, she’ll help with the mobile clinic, but she’s also hoping to raise awareness of the destruction in country and learn more about what long-term resources and support will be needed to help it recover. She plans to be in Pakistan for two weeks and will meet with several other physicians who intend to join her efforts.
