Staff from care homes in Perthshire have been announced as finalists in a prestigious awards ceremony next month.
Balhousie Rumbling Bridge’s specialist Huntington’s Unit, meanwhile, has been shortlisted for the Specialist Service Unit of the Year award. Cammy said: “I was really surprised to be nominated for this award and even more so to be a finalist. It feels great to be nominated and that my passion has been recognised.”She has gone on to apply to study to become a nurse while continuing to work at Balhousie Coupar Angus and has been accepted on a fiercely competitive student programme with the Open University.
The unit provides its residents with a home where they feel safe and can continue to enjoy a good quality of life. “All of our staff work incredibly hard and to see recognition from the sector is a crucial way to honour the care they give every single day.”
