Liz Truss wears one of Kate Middleton's high-street dresses to the Coronation
As the former British Prime Minister arrived at Westminster Abbey for King Charles' Coronation, it was clear that she'd done her research into royal-appropriate dress styles. Liz Truss, whose brief tenure in No 10 coincided with the late Queen's death and the King's accession, arrived wearing a bright orange Karen Millen dress, currently £153.30 here, that looked like something Kate Middleton herself would wear to an official event.
It is, in fact, the exact same dress Kate wore as she visited the Royal Surrey County Hospital's maternity ward back in October 2022. For her first solo engagement as the Princess of Wales, Kate wore the cheerful yellow version of the fitted Karen Millen dress, also currently £153.30 here, with black suede heels.
Liz Truss wasn't the only person wearing a citrus shade at the Coronation. Fellow former Prime Minister Theresa May wore an orange hat, while Kate's sister Pippa Middleton wore a lemon Claire Mischevani dress – it seems these citrus shades are becoming this season's biggest colour trend! By Liz choosing the wear the Princess’ favourite high street label she’s proving the ‘Kate effect’ is well and truly still going strong. Also, in good news, the orange dress Liz wore is still available in most sizes - though presumable not for long as it’s on sale.
