The FA will now review the evidence via an independent regulatory commission, and have the power overturn the decision and cancel Mac Allister's suspension. Liverpool have taken into account the FA's stance on 'frivolous' appeals, which can result in a three-game ban being upgraded to four if the appeal is rejected. An appeal can, however, be dismissed without the punishment of an extra game if it is considered there was justification for the initial decision to be queried.
