Liverpool owner John Henry has confirmed he is not selling the club. Gulp. 'I keep to the facts: we merely formalized an ongoing process.'

It was reported last November that the club’s owners, Fenway Sports Group, were searching for investment into the Reds, with reports suggesting they were looking for a full sale.

However, Henry has now broke his silence on the potential sale, and it is pretty bleak news for Liverpool fans who have been desperate for a sale to be finalised. Liverpool are valued at around $4.5billion and lots of parties around the world have been linked with a takeover., a minority sale to a ‘strategic partner’ is the most likely outcome, and FSG have not received any bids or held high level talks over a sale.“I know there has been a lot of conversation and quotes about LFC , but I keep to the facts: we merely formalized an ongoing process,” he said.

“Will we be in England forever? No. Are we selling LFC? No. Are talking with investors about LFC? Yes. Will something happen there? I believe so, but it won’t be a sale. Have we sold anything in the past 20+ years?” Manchester United are in the process of selling the club, which will make this an even bigger pill to swallow for the Anfield faithful.
