Liverpool-linked Newcastle United midfielder Bruno Guimaraes is reportedly close to signing a new deal at St James' Park
Liverpool-linked Bruno Guimaraes has reportedly agreed a new five-year contract with Newcastle United - which will include a release clause in the region of £100m.
According to Fabrizio Romano, Newcastle have agreed to extend the midfielder's contract, which is due to expire in June 2026, but have included a release clause in the "region of £100m", with the Reds and Real Madrid both heavily linked with a move for Guimaraes in 2023.READ MORE: Hogan explains what FSG 'didn't appreciate' at Liverpool and reveals top targets
Speaking to the Anfield Wrap in August 2022, Reddy was asked which type of midfielders the club's recruitment staff were keeping their eye on. Yet despite adding Alexis Mac Allister, Dominik Szoboszlai, Wataru Endo and Ryan Gravenberch to the Anfield ranks during the off-season, it was claimed Liverpool had an offer of £100m rejected by Newcastle for Guimaraes in the final days of the transfer window.
