Liverpool Bounce Back To Thrash Bournemouth
LIVERPOOL, ENGLAND - SEPTEMBER 21: Luis Diaz of Liverpool celebrates with Trent Alexander-Arnold after scoring his teams second goal during the Premier League match between Liverpool FC and AFC Bournemouth at Anfield on September 21, 2024 in Liverpool, England. Reds manager Arne Slot made two changes from the shock loss to Nottingham Forest, as Darwin Nunez made his first start of the season in place of Diogo Jota while Caoimhin Kelleher started ahead of Alisson between the sticks.
The Reds dominated thereafter, with Mohamed Salah passing up a good chance after 15 minutes when he was denied by Bournemouth goalkeeper Kepa after a superb through-ball from Alexis Mac Allister. The Reds' lead was doubled two minutes as Diaz completed his brace by turning home Trent Alexander Arnold's cross at the far post, leaving the visiting side shell-shocked.
The Reds were a lot more sloppier in the second period as the Cherries looked to fashion some half chances as they looked to get back into the encounter.
