Severe delays are being reported
for those driving on the road between the A57/A614 at Upper Morton and the B6387 at Elkesley, where the A1 has been closed southbound.
The collision was first reported at around 7am on Friday and the traffic monitoring site Inrix says four vehicles have been involved in the accident. National Highways East Midlands has confirmed the closure and saysNational Highways describes the incident as a "multi-vehicle collision" and has shared a diversion route for those travelling in the area.
