She has been in the police for three decades and previously held the position of Deputy National Head: Directorate for Priority Crime Investigation .Focusing on gun control, Masemola reports that in July alone, a total of 1 173 illegal firearms and 7 738 live ammunition were confiscated countrywide.Giving statistics for July, Masemola said more than 22 320 suspects were arrested across the country in the last month.
