Disney is in talks with an Academy Award winner to direct their upcoming live-action remake of the animated film Bambi.
Sarah Polley is in talks to direct the new live-action Bambi movie, according to a report from. She recently won the Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay this year for her movie Women Talking. Polley previously wrote and directed the Oscar-nominated film Away From Her and has gone on to direct movies like Take This Waltz and Stories We Tell.
The live-action Bambi movie is currently in very early development. It will be written by Geneva Robertson-Dworet and Lindsey Beer. The film will be a remake of the 1942 Disney animated film about a young deer struck by tragedy who grows up with a rabbit named Thumper and a skunk named Flower.
