Caylie McKenzie has had a massive impact on the community, with locals now more cautious about littering as she often marches up to strangers to give them a row.
A little Scots 'eco-warrior' tells people off for dropping rubbish and spends her free time litter-picking and rescuing animals. Caylie McKenzie, seven, is well known in her home town of Kilsyth, North Lanarkshire for her climate activism.
But Cheryl said she never actually planned it for her daughter. She never predicted Caylie would bloom into a full-on mini eco-warrior after demonstrating good habits as she grew up such as picking up litter, recycling, and caring for animals. "We did little things from as soon as our children were born - taking our rubbish home with us, recycling properly and rescuing animals."It shows if you teach them from an early age they'll do it by themselves."The little eco-warrior was once moved to tears when she spotted litter had been dumped in her local area. Mum Cheryl says the schoolgirl picks up litter whenever she goes out on a walk to help keep the community tidy - and tells off those who don't.
Cheryl said: "People in the area are now more cautious about throwing their litter on the floor - in case Caylie gets them in trouble."
