Litelok X is the most theft-resistant, angle grinder-proof bike lock and it's lighter than any other U-lock or D-lock on the market...

Litelok is going head-to-head with other U-lock makers with new lighter, but more secure Litelok X locks, protected by a new Barronium composite construction that gives them unparalleled anti-theft resistance against angle grinders.

The functional result they say resists angle grinder attacks by “turning the grinder’s energy and force on itself” – quickly wearing down multiple grinder disks, draining batteries, and damaging the grinder’s motor.I’m incredibly excited to have reimagined the popular D-lock format with innovative design features and our own technology Barronium, which provides the ultimate in anti-angle grinder resistance. The range was put through extensive tests, breaking discs and grinders in the process.

With a heavier-duty Abloy Sentry lock – the “most pick-proof cylinder available” on the market – Litelok describes their slightly heavier 1800g X3 as “15X more secure than the current best-selling, best-performing D-locks” on the market. It is essentially the same size overall, with 103 x 208mm clear inside the locked loop.

The UK-made locks are Sold Secure Bicycle Diamond certified. They feature retro-reflective detailing, and come with a secure & rattle-free Twist+Go mounting bracket to carry it on your bike. But Litelok also partnered with Restrap to make a lock holster available separately, as well. The new theft-resistant Litelok X u-locks come in two versions. The lighter 1.7kg X1 is available now for £150 – direct from Litelok.com, via Amazon, and in select shops in Europe & the UK.

We expect to try out the X1 to protect our bike on commutes soon, although I kinda don’t want to try to ruin my own angle grinder at home and hope it doesn’t get a real-world test when I leave my bike at the train station. I guess we’ll see.
