You’d be hard-pressed to find a definitive way to describe what goes on across any particular Geese track. The Brooklyn-based group conjures everything from The Rolling Stones to Alex Cameron to Led Zeppelin to Squid, and they do it in the hardest, punkest ways imaginable. Their sophomore album,, is emblematic of that chaotic funk. Lead singles “Cowboy Nudes” and “3D Country” touched on that fluidity.
New song “Mysterious Love” is violent in the most-euphoric way, with heavy, monstrous guitar riffs and piercing vocals. “Your familiar eyes, I know what they cost / Born into the sea, swimming on your own / Between giant fires, singing for the long gone / Some people are alone forever, some people are alone forever,” bandleader Cameron Winter sings.
