According to the flanker, Mbonambi called him a “white c*nt” in an incident in the first half of the game that took place at the Stade de France. Following the allegations by Tom Curry, South Africa Rugby released a statement in response to the racial slur report. It read: “We are aware of the allegation, which we take very seriously, and are reviewing the available evidence. We will engage with Bongi Mbonambi if anything is found to substantiate the claim.”The governing body added: “We can confirm that we are formally reviewing the allegation. World Rugby will not be making further comment until the conclusion of the process.
