Lincoln woman fights back against 'malicious' parking fines by UKPC at Tritton Road Retail Park
A Lincoln woman is taking a stand against a parking company, accusing them of levying “malicious and opportunistic” parking fines after she got hers overturned.
Undeterred, she successfully contested the ticket and the charge was dropped, but she still wants answers from the firm. She added: “As far as I’m aware, parking spaces are not allocated to specific shops, but to be honest, I’m cautious about going if they are dishing out tickets for no good reason.“I plan to follow up with UKPC as they didn’t answer any of my challenges except to say the parking charge has been cancelled.”Jan challenged that there was no proof of her leaving, just a photo of her parked car which “was not a breach,” she said.
Jan says since then she has wanted to go to Home Sense, but “didn’t dare”, saying “it’s put me right off”. She added that she’ll probably use the other Pets at Home store on Outer Circle Road now. After her ordeal, she submitted a complaint to UKPC on July 19. “I would be interested to see what was submitted in my case to warrant the notice in the first place.”
“It’s not an error or an argument of whether I parked over a white line - it’s just wrong as I didn’t leave the car park on foot. They are actively seeking to issue tickets that aren’t right.”
