Judge dismissed for misconduct - but denies he intended to 'frustrate criminal investigations'
A former judge at Lincoln Crown Court has been dismissed for is allegedly deleting data that was of interest to police during a criminal investigation.
He denied intending to"frustrate the criminal investigation" but the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office concluded that he should be removed from office as a result of this. In a statement from the Judicial Conduct Investigations Office, a spokesperson said:"The Lord Chancellor, with the Lord Chief Justice’s agreement, has removed His Honour Judge Andrew Easteal from office for misconduct.
