Malabi-Dzhangi added that State advocate Muneiwa Ratshibvumo argued that the offence was serious and prevalent.She added:"The court has sentenced the accused to 25 years' imprisonment for murder, 25 imprisonment for rape, five years' imprisonment for kidnapping and three years’ imprisonment for defeating the ends of justice and further ordered the sentence in counts two, three and four to run concurrently.

revealed that although child murders decreased by almost 20%, more children were victims of attempted murder compared to the same period last year.Three hundred and sixty more attempted murder cases were registered and investigated by the SAPS involving minors.He added rape cases have shown decreases in the period of reporting, with six provinces reporting fewer rape cases.
