Ke himself has denied all allegations against him, including on camera at Queen’s Park when approached after question period.
Ke twice denied any involvement when asked direct questions on Nov. 17, and then followed up with denials of involvement when detailed questions were put to his lawyer. At that point, the Ford government had not been briefed by CSIS and neither had anyone at the province’s solicitor general’s office including the intelligence liasion Wallace told me on Nov. 17. The briefing from CSIS came only after the province approached the intelligence service to ask for information.
Ford should have insisted Ke step aside at that time — it may sound harsh, but the allegations are serious.
