The spectator who invaded the pitch in the second half of the Test between Wales and the Springboks in Cardiff has been handed a lifetime ban at the Principality Stadium. | Sport24news

The spectator who invaded the pitch in the second half of last Saturday's Test between Wales and the Springboks in Cardiff has been handed a lifetime ban at the Principality Stadium. The incident in question occurred in the 63rd minute of South Africa's 23-18 win. With the scores locked at 15-15, Wales had manufactured some space down the left as they entered the Springbok 22m area.

The timing of the incident meant that the pitch invader was being tackled to the ground by security just as Williams was looking to gather the ball and accelerate towards the line. In a statement released on Monday, Principality Stadium manager Mark Williams confirmed the man, a registered club rugby player, will not be allowed to attend any further games at the stadium.

"The WRU, Principality Stadium and South Wales Police condemn any behaviour of this kind, and the individual will be issued with a lifetime ban from buying any tickets from the WRU for rugby events held at Principality Stadium in future.
