Veteran politician was acclaimed as the NDP candidate in Vancouver East for the next federal election

Vancouver East MP Jenny Kwan blasted Prime Minister Justin Trudeau on Sunday over his treatment of two respected women formerly in his cabinet, Jody Wilson-Raybould and Jane Philpott, and said opposition leader Andrew Scheer was “basically another version” of Stephen Harper, the former prime minister.

The veteran B.C. politician was speaking before she was acclaimed as the NDP’s riding candidate for the next federal election. “And now, three-and-a-half years later, what do they see? Liberal, Tory, same old story. They do exactly the same thing and disappoint communities.” Related, Kwan wants to see the federal government take on “big pharma” over the role companies played in sparking the opioid crisis.
