Leverage’s resident thief Parker has a troubled history that left her closed off to her team. However, she opens up to them by the end of season 4.
Parker, the thief of the Leverage crew, became the show's best character in season 4. The characters in Leverage all experience some kind of interesting personal journey but Parker's is one of the best. The one-named thief joins the eclectic Leverage crew for the first case and decides to join them permanently. That is an unusual move for her, as she insists she works best alone.
SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY Parker begins the series barely able to hold a friendly, natural conversation with the Leverage crew, let alone strangers. She also couldn't always trust the rest of the team, which sometimes led to tense situations on many episodes of Leverage while on the job. Parker's history explains her reticent to trust others. She grew up with very few good role models, friends, or family around. The people that were in her life couldn’t be trusted at all.
Parker has good reasons for being so closed off at the beginning of the series. To begin with, she grew up in the foster system. Season 3, Episode 6, “The Studio Job,” reveals an abusive foster father who takes away Parker’s toy until she agreed to be his thief. She retaliates by blowing up the house . As a teenager, Parker meets Archie Leach when she tries to steal his wallet. Instead of calling the cops, Archie took Parker under his wing.
How Leverage Season 4 Completed Parker's Arc Reconnecting with Archie in season 3 laid the groundwork for Parker’s emotional journey to come to a satisfying climax in Leverage season 4. In season 4, episode 1, “The Long Way Down Job,” Parker gets trapped with Eliot. She has an emotional breakthrough and realizes that the people that make up Leverage are very dear to her, and that she is just as loved by them.
In Leverage: Redemption, it’s clear that Parker has developed into a more relaxed and open person with a new sense of self-assuredness. Her newfound confidence would be a lot of fun to explore in Leverage: Redemption season 3, if that is ever announced. While she may still be reserved in some ways, she has learned to let others in, making her a compelling and relatable character. Her struggles with trust and social interaction make her relatable, and her skills as a thief make her captivating.
