The South African Weather Service has issued a weather warning for damaging winds and runaway fire risk in parts of the Western Cape today.
“A yellow level 1 warning for damaging wind, resulting in localised problems for high-sided vehicles on prone routes due to cross winds on exposed high-level roads/bridges, and risk of localised runaway fires, is expected over the southern parts of
the Northern Cape as well as the central parts of the Western Cape,” the statement reads.SAWS adds that “extremely high fire danger conditions” are expected over the Central and Little Karoo as well as the southwestern parts of the Cape Winelands district.
