With Russia’s recognition of two separatist regions in Ukraine, Vladimir Putin has made it clear that he is playing chess while President Joe Biden is playing...

The best quote from Tuesday’scame from Attorney General Ken Paxton’s former staffers: “The most basic qualifications of an attorney general are respect for truth and respect for the law. Ken Paxton has neither.”

Paxton has been indicted on securities fraud charges and is under FBI investigation over allegations of bribery. It appears that he not only ignores laws, he lies to avoid being held accountable for his actions. There is a good chance that the Republican candidate for attorney general will win in the general election. Defeat in the primary is the only way to guarantee that Paxton will not be reelected.

It was shocking to read that a family member only gets $11.55 a day per child for taking in a foster child, while a complete stranger gets from $47 to about $92 per day per child. Why the big difference? It is well known that children do better when they live with family members rather than strangers. I agree that in the next legislative cycle this topic should be at the top of the agenda. It’s clear to me that the decision to hire Eddie García as Dallas police chief was a brilliant one.

To cope with today’s problems and issues, we need to hear new voices with solutions for now. I challenge you to ignore anything the former president says and does. He can’t dominate the news unless you let him. Open your minds and media space to new people and possibilities. They deserve a chance to be heard, and the public deserves a chance to hear them.
