Readers suggest Michael Sorrell as a candidate for Dallas mayor; discuss Asian American immigrants; worry about no compromise in U.S. House; and dislike the disingenuousness of Rep. Van Duyne.
The slightest hint of being disingenuous is grounds for visa denial. In 2023, there were almost 700,000 F1 student visa applications, of which some 445,000 were approved. While the assistance agencies who grant aid to Asian American immigrants are laudable, their focus is on immigrants, not students who promised to return to their country.Marjorie Taylor Greene might be well served to dust off her dictionary to better comprehend the meaning of words.
If there is one thing that all Texans can agree on, we hate weakness and hypocrisy. So all I could do was laugh that U.S. Rep. Beth Van Duyne had invited New York police officers to come to Texas, where we hold criminals to account.
