All of these things are considered acceptable, rational means that we use to manage our society. When will we apply this same rationale to gun control?Again we’re all reading that members of Congress are “devastated,” “heartbroken” and “sending prayers” after Monday’s mass killing in Louisville that killed five and injured eight. Stop saying these meaningless words and take action with gun legislation.

It’s way, way past time to enact sensible, rational gun legislation. Your job security surely isn’t worth the cost of innocent people’s lives, is it?Finally, some good news out of the of the Texas Legislature! On a bipartisan 86-52 vote, the Texas House voted on a budget amendment prohibiting the use of state funds for private education.

The exodus of funds from our public schools with no spending oversight would destroy these public schools, and the communities built around these schools. First, the surprise was the boneheadedness of the Republican supermajority in even bringing the expulsion action. They should have known the optics would be bad and appear racially motivated, but arrogance and power trumped good judgment.
