Re: “Meta Messed With Texas — Attorney general’s $1.4 billion settlement is a major win for state and data protection,” Wednesday editorial.Let’s just not make it sound as if Facebook is very concerned about the money. They have already been sued for the same reasons and lost, and one of those lawsuits had them pay $5 billion, not a mere $1.4 billion. If they kept doing it, it must be because they make more money with business as usual than with what they have to pay in lawsuits.
We don’t let children decide when it’s time to drive, quit school, have babies and many other things they are not equipped to decide. We need to be parents, first and foremost.Re: “U.S. labor market needs more ‘invaders’ — Put bluntly, the crisis isn’t too many migrants, it’s too few,” by Rob Curran, Sunday Opinion.
Best supporting points include a birth rate lower than the death rate, immigrants willing to take on roles many Americans will not and worker shortages that can lead to food shortages, housing shortages, health care shortages.Is that what aging Americans want? Stop complaining and get the immigration issue addressed and fixed. Putting off a bipartisan bill to use as a cudgel in the election campaign was disgraceful.
