I am concerned about our approach to dealing with B.C.’s drug crisis. I believe it is well intentioned, but misguided.
Mayor Doug McCallum has been vague about costs, saying “it shouldn’t cost too much extra.” Only somebody in government could build a business case on such shaky foundations. What I do know is it will cost more — money that could be spent on new infrastructure and services, things that could make Surrey a better place to live.
As a heartthrob, dad or riding a bull, being in his company made you smile. With a wicked wit and common sense, he will be fondly remembered.No need now for 4/20Now that cannabis is legal, there is no reason to continue the annual pothead Sunset Beach bacchanal. It is now strictly a commercial event and organizers should sponsor it as such at a suitable venue. The event should adhere to all city bylaws, pay event, security, cleanup and policing fees, and stop wearing the “protest” blanket.
