Removing the best-before dates will create a further profit to the grocers but will leave the consumer vulnerable. You will see increased hospital visits due to food poisonings and increased requirement for antibiotics and it’ll deter people from purchasing products without expiry dates. When I was working my way through school, I worked in a meat department in one major grocer. We did not have expiry dates at that time.
Are we planning to sell tainted and unadulterated goods without a safety net at the expense of the consumer?
