On Friday, I went to a Tim Hortons drive thru for a coffee. A strategically positioned ‘homeless’ man, with sign and hat, was looking for handouts. I put a tooney in the hat, as I often do, expecting to make myself feel better about helping someone less fortunate than I. The middle-aged man thanked me. Then he told me that he had taken his granddaughter to the Stampede earlier in the week, and things were so expensive. He seemed indignant that the Stampede had cleaned him out.
Gian Carlo Carra has the audacity to try to weasel his way past Calgary voters and talk a good game of repentance regarding his land deal and the ‘mistake’ he made by not disclosing financial interest in a certain property.
